Auto Account on my credit report that I don't recognize

I have an account on my credit report that says it's "industry: auto financing" from a Tdaf. However, I don't recognize this account. I have only ever had one auto loan and it was through Chrysler Financial and I always made my payments through Chrysler Financial and paid off the loan in 2010.

What can I do about this? How do I find out if this is my account or not?

Thanks.

That company was founded in 1964 byChrysler Corporation and became a stand-alone company in 2007, when Chrysler Corporation was purchased by Cerberus Capital Management.

Re: Auto Account on my credit report that I don't recognize

So I guess that kinda makes sense since Chrysler Financial is not listed on my EQ credit report, only tdaf is. However, the tdaf says that it was a charged off account. However, I know that I paid my auto loan off in 2010 and that it was never charged off. What can I do about this? Do I have to somehow prove that the account was never charged off?

Re: Auto Account on my credit report that I don't recognize

Since posting my auto account from both TU and EQ it makes more sense that they are both my Chrysler Financial auto loan. But I don't understand why one says Chrysler Financial on the credit report and another credit report has tdaf. I don't understand why they would do this....

Re: Auto Account on my credit report that I don't recognize

The name doesn't mean much, One updated to reflect the name, one didn't.  The status of each is obviously more imporant.  were they included in BK?

Re: Auto Account on my credit report that I don't recognize

They were not included in the bankruptcy. I had to list the auto loan as a debt, but the auto loan was reaffirmed and then paid off. They did offer me to pay off the loan in one payment but I was $200 short so they said they would waive the $200 and I could then have the loan paid in full. I didn't know there was any negative consquences and thougth that they just were being nice, as we didn't ask for it. Kinda sucks as I would have just contined making the last 5 payments, in full, if they would have told me about the credit consquences of accepting the $200 off.

I hope this makes sense. If not, ask and I can try and clarify.

Re: Auto Account on my credit report that I don't recognize

I think that's something you should be asking for clarification of from the OC. Even though TD wasnt the original company they should still have your account records. If they can't find sufficient info I would press for them to assure all three bureaus are reporting the tradeline as fully positive. Maybe even shoot for a GW for the lates while you're at it
