Hello,
my lawyer said I can get a secured card for a travel plans after I file my ch 13 case.
Has anyone been successfully approved for a secured BECU card within one year of filing ch 13 ?
If not, what CU's would you recommend ? I can't use NFCU, Patelco, Langley, Golden 1
Thank you!
I would definitely say that BECU is BK friendly, but I am not sure HOW friendly they are when it comes to time after BK filing.
I was just a month past my 3 year anniversary of my BK7 discharge this past August and I decided to apply for a BECU rewards card. I was surprised when they approved my application (after giving them POI documentation) and they gave me a starting limit of $16K unsecured.
So when it comes to a secured card from them, I would bet they would definitely be friendly with it. If in doubt, you could always give them a call. When I was going through the POI issue with them, all their reps were amazing to deal with.
Good luck!
Thank you!
Just as an additional data point, last time I looked, you could not apply for their secured card online.
You need to either call or stop into a branch.
Which is why I never went for BECU's secured card.
I don't mind applying and possibly getting denied via computer, but I don't want it to happen in my branch.
