I recently had 4 collection accounts deleted from TU. My score did not change at all (pulled it yesterday on myFico, and compared it to one from 11/23 from here also).
I was really hoping that would boost my scores.
2 of those CA accounts deleted on EQ also (and 2 weren't reporting on EQ) and no SW alert regarding a score change :-(
That sounds a bit strange...how many overall collections did you have? How old were these in particular?
Were the account deleted due to a dispute or they simply fell off because they were 7+ years old?

My TU report now reflects 5 CAs left - 3 of which are paid off (I know it doesn't make a difference for scoring though). So, I started with 9.
As for the ones deleted, this is what the previous TU myFico report said:
RJM Acquisitions, date assigned 12/2/2009
Bur Col Reco, date assigned: 6/17/2012
Natl Recovery, date assigned: 2/6/2010
AFNI, date assigned: 6/21/ 2010
However, I know that those aren't all DOFD dates.
If I look at those accounts on my report pulled directly from TU it says:
RJM: Est removal: 8/2013
Bur Col Reco, est removal: 1/2014
Natl Recovery, est removal: 7/2013
AFNI, est removal: 10/2013

1 was a PFD, 2 were disputes directly with CRA, and 1 CA deleted after DV.

Since they were so old, could it be that they really weren't impacing the score at all?
It is my opinion, that collections are sort of "grouped" for purposes of scoring. So, for instance 1 collection=x points 2-3=x points4-6=x points 7-15=x points. So in that example, whether you have 7 or 12 collections your score is the same. So, for your situation, fico is saying you are the same risk whether you have 5 collections or 9 collections. I am surprised though, to be honest, that with 4 removed, one being recent, there was no move at all. I would give it a few days to a month and check again.

I could understand no movement for 1 old account deleting but I thought 4 would make an impact :/
OH well.....at least the accounts are gone.
I was just REALLY wanting a TU score increase to help my approval-odds - I want to app for the WalMart card since I don't have any open CCs. Now, I'm not sure if I should or not.
I think you may still see an effect from it, I'd agree, there's no way 4 accounts weren't affecting your score at all.
