CFPB submission question

When submitting a complaint to the CFPB, should I include screen shots?

I'm submitting a complaint against 2 PRA accounts and 1 Midland on how they are on listed on the credit reports!

I am also submitting a complaint against the 3 CRA's, just not sure if I should include the same screen shots for each complaint.

PRA has removed and reinserted themselves on my husband's reports once again! His score went up 10 points, but that won't last long!

How can removing and reinserting on the same day be legal!? I just don't understand that!

Starting all over again!

Re: CFPB submission question

PRA and Midland are the sleaziest of all the debt collectors so nothing surprises me with them. I've also filed a complaint with CFPB about Midland's reporting practices.

Re: CFPB submission question

Oh, sorry -- forgot to answer -- yes I did include a screenshot of the reporting details from Equifax.

Re: CFPB submission question

The CFPB is charged with administrarive enforcement of the FCRA, and thus if you have a complaint, you need to provide adequate factual basis to support an allegation of violation.  They dont conduct a trial, and thus wont have discovery.

Thus, it is imperitive that you fully support your assertion of violation with whatever facts you have

In a related administrative process, the filing of a direct dispute, in its implementing rules at 16 CFR 660.4, it is specifically suggested that the consumer provide a copy of the relevant portion of their recent credit report to document any assertion of inaccuracy in reporting.  That suggestion would similarly apply to administrative complaints directed to the CFPB that assert any misreporing on the part of a furnisher.

Re: CFPB submission question

I had previously submitted a complaint to the CFPB against Midland and I just sent a screenshot and a photocopy of a settlement offer Midland had sent me to the CFPB becuase that was the only proof I had. Midland was reporting as the OC. In the end they deleted, asked that the debt not be reinserted, but said I owed the debt. I have since paid them and they have remained off my reports so far.

When I've disputed Midland via CRA, it just comes back as valid, no letter mailed to me, or anything.  When I have tried to dispute PRA via CRA, I got letters from PRA! LOL

All 3 are reporting wrong and they are NOT the OC!

You do not owe Midland, you only owe the OC, so I can't see how they can say that you owe them! Just my 2 cents

Thanks for the help.

Re: CFPB submission question

As an aside, what is your requested remedy by the CFPB?

If the debt collector agrees to remove the asserted inaccurate information, the issue does not appear to extend beyond that correction, and I dont see it resulting in any deletion of their reported collection.

I doubt that the CFPB will find any violation on the deletion/reinsertion issue, but perhaps it will end that practice on their part.

In the end, it appears that there is still the collection to deal with.......

Re: CFPB submission question

Confunsed on having screen shots to send in to CFPB.

There are 3 CRA's when I submit the complaint about PRA or Midland, which CR do I submit screen shots from??

Thanks

I want it either corrected to where it won't do as much harm or deleted from the CR!

From what I have heard and from what I've seen from a friends report, debt being listed under closed accounts with a balance does more damage then a collection does!
