I was under the impression that the CRA's rarely shared information. I was a member of Experian's Credit Expert and everytime I would initate a dispute, I get an alert on Score Watch a week or so later that says the item is currently being disputed. Still happens this way. I just recently had a deletion of a CO account from 06. Should I expect it to delete from the reports as well? I did dispute the item on all 3 CR's but could a deletion from EX speed up the process for TU and EQ?
The CRAs don't communicate about your reports. The only way you would get an alert like that is if you submitted a dispute to your Equifax credit report. It sounds like you were disputing info on your EQ report using Credit Expert. As far as deletes, the actions of one CRA has no effect on the other two.
Just a FYI!
The only time the CRAs communicate with each about your reports is when you place a fraud alert with one of them.
FCRA 611(a)(5)(D):
Any consumer reporting agency that
compiles and maintains files on consumers on a nationwide basis shall
implement an automated system through which furnishers of information to
that consumer reporting agency may report the results of a reinvestigation
that finds incomplete or inaccurate information in a consumer's file to other
such consumer reporting agencies.
Sounds to me like they can......
Good detective work Tug. Although it does say MAY and not WILL. Just a note ![]()
Tug did make a good fine. "Shall" and "May", can the FCRA be more vague.![]()
True. It does say 'May'....but it does prove that the CRAs have the ability to 'talk' to each other concearning disputes at least.
