Re: Cap 1 Over Credit Limit

Well with all she respect I do have reminders on my phone, and I keep a physical monthly  calendar exclusively  for bills. I haven't paid a single bill late in years and I haven't been over the limit,  ever. This has never happened to me. I had a payment confirmation number that is meaningless AND if they didn't want to release info because they couldn't ID me then they wouldn't even be talking about the account with me to begin with. Further if you carefully read what I said the exact words they used was the cited letter "is FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY ". I was trying in good faith to understand what happened and I hit a wall. Cap1- No, thank you. Never again.

I had no problem comprehending what you posted. You made your payment 1 day before it was due. There was an error that caused it to fail. You're unable to pinpoint what that error is, or who it was by, so you're blaming cap1 even though it could very well be your own. You want them to take responsibility, even though you don't even know if it's their fault, or yours. And you're angry because you have an internal blemish that nobody, but cap1 and you will know about. You also want them to fix this by refunding those fees and notating your account that it wasn't your fault you were late on your first payment, even though you don't know who is at fault, yet.

Sound about right?

Re: Cap 1 Over Credit Limit

No, it doesn't sound right. The original post was about me finding out if I have any form of recourse given that I don't sense any goodwill or transparency. The cap 1 app has Face ID log in features, I don't even manually log in. They could have emailed the purported letter there. They could have notified me there was a problem when they encountered it. I wanted to cross verify the info with my own bank so this won't happen again.

I understand the payment won't be reported as late but the over the limit info will definitely be reported. In my original post I indicated that I didn't know what sort of impact it would have but I was anxious because I know it won't be positive.

You sound biased. I don't know what your interests are but I don't find your feedback to be constructive.

Re: Cap 1 Over Credit Limit

I see no bias in any of the posts from our members who are trying to not only give you help with the current issue, but also what to do moving forward.

You've encountered this issue with Cap One this time, but it could be any lender in the future of you're uncertain what caused it.

If you dont know what caused it, it would be for the best if try ensuring it doesnt happen again, and most suggestions are centered around that.

I suggest you reread through some of them when you're less upset.

Good luck and I hope you get it resolved soon.

Re: Cap 1 Over Credit Limit

In this situation "over limit" info WILL NOT be reported. You went over the limit after the statement cut and paid it before the next statement cut. Literally nobody will ever see that.
