Hi all!
Just wanted to share my success as I found this group to be super helpful and actually have this community to thank for my success!
Without doing much research I called both credit card companies begging for a goodwill adjustment and all the CSRs told me the same thing. "We are required to report accurately so we can not make any changes". After that I scoured the web to see how others have found success and it turns out you have to email the CEOs which I never would have thought of.
For Synchrony Bank I emailed the CEO on Sunday evening and received an email back Monday morning saying my request was received and they would get back to me in 2 business days. Well this morning I got an email from the Office of the President and she said they would be removing my late payments! 3 30 day ones to be exact!
For Capital One I emailed the CEO on a Sunday evening and received a call back on Thursday stating my request was received and they would get back to me in about a week or so. After a week went by and I hadn't heard anything I decided to call them and ask if I had any notes in my account stating the results of my request and turns out it was approved they just never called to let me know! I asked for them to send me a letter in the mail stating they would be doing the goodwill adjustment and they said they would. The late payments they are removing are 2 30 days, 1 60 day and 1 90 day!
Now just patiently waiting for the late payments to be reversed and see how much my FICO score increases! Currently at a 640 and there are no other blemishes on my report so fingers crossed it increases significantly!
For anyone asking, a lot of CEO email addresses are public so a quick Google search should do the trick!!
Congrats!
Congratulations on your success! If those are your only negatives, depending on there age I'd imagine you should be sitting pretty close to 700's give or take.

They are all in the last 12 months so hoping for 700s! The 6 years before that are clean.
Congrats on ur success! Im in the same boat....2 years no missed payments and i slipped up recently...hoping to create a good will letter and getting them removed...do u have any advice as far as what was ur reasoning behind missing those payments,?
Congrats on your GW success. Cap One and Synchrony are two tough nuts to crack if you read through the threads on here. For every success story you read about there are easily 10 "no luck" stories. The fact that you got GW from both is extremely rare. Good work!
As far as a score gain, if you're at 640 now say hello to 720-730. I think 80-90 points is a fair gain to expect when you're talking a major delinquency in the last 12 months (and a handful of other lesser ones) and your report moving from dirty to clean.
Hi there!!
congrats on your removals!
i currently trying to remove a 30 day late from capital one.
can you share any information and step you provided to capital one to help this process.

Congrats on getting them removed! I'm in the process of trying to see how I can also get Capital One to remove a few 30 days off of my card. I went the entire year of 2020 paying on time and I've had the card since 2018! When writing out the email for GW are you including account information or how exactly should it be addressed?
