Good afternoon,
Capital one 200$ secured card - opened on October 2017
Today i logged on and saw i now have 500$ credit limit, does this mean i was graduated to an unecured card?
I tried to do a CLI however it says CLI not supported on secured cards.
I have not recived an email or anything.
I would use the chat feature on their website. I opened my secure card with them late in 2016 with $200. I am up to $600 and have been there for a while. When I pinged them a few days ago to see about an increase they advised that my card was still considererd secured and that the type that I had could not update to a non-secured card.
I know that some of their newer secured cards have had success though. Log in to their website and try the "live help".
No offense but if you read what you wrote, you'd have your answer. Capital One literally told you that your card is still secured. The auto CLI is not indicative of a graduation. You will get an email when that has happened.
Hahah yea i did kind answer my question, howver im not sure what the process of capital one is.
so i guess i was hoping to hear something like it takes 24Hr for the change to happen or something.
Either way appriciate it ill just give them a call.
Update:
So i just spoke to them and they confirem the card is still a secured card.
However the CLI on a secured card is the first step to get graduated. they did confirm the card is under review now to be unsecured.
The Secured, Platinum and Quicksilver One have a credit steps program for people building or rebuilding credit. After 5 months of on time payments, you'll get a small CLI. It will probably be your only CLI since it's their secured card. Cap1's timeline is 12 months to be graduated, but depending on how your credit report comes back, you could be graduated early as they start checking around month 7. Cap1 requires a minimum of 3 months evaluation for their cards for any kind of increase, decrease, or graduation. How fast you graduate depends on that evaluation as well as the rest of your credit report. In addition, once you have an unsecured card, you're not eligible for a CLI for 6 months from your last increase/decrease.

i hope they look at the credit when i got this card my CR was around 520 and im now mid 700s.
I have already got a few other cards since them with aroung 4-5k limit
