Catalog Credit Accounts Such as Fingerhut (For building credit without hard pulls) Any suggestions)

I have been approved for finger hut freshstart;

I was wondering if you guys could list other ones you've used to help build credit before and what you think of them? Preferrably those who offer to individuals starting out with no credit and those that wont do a hard pull on your credit report.

Thanks so much guys for helping me as much as you have on my journey

You can't completely avoid hard pulls.  Don't overlook secured cards.

What are your scores?

Stop being afraid of inquiries.

Keep it up, I started with finger hut, paid on time every month and in a few months I got a pre quil for Merrick. That was a year ago and now I am in the high 600s and have multiple 5000 limits. Charge something small and don't get carried away as they are expensive. Best to pif every month if possible. Stay away from the likes of credit one, first premier and continental finance (surge, verve). One catalog account is enough, otherwise there is Ginny's and Seventh Avenue. If, after six months of payment history you could try for a store card, Wal-Mart sent me a prequal around the time Merrick did.

Thanks you guys I will; I got the freshstart I was planning on buying something for 50$ paying the 30$ down payment only oweing 20$ and paying the 20$ off after the first statment cuts would that work? My scores are non exsistant at this point I've just turned 18 and I am starting from the 0 you begin with when youve had no open accounts ever. So at this point I think secured or catalog cards are the only things I can get sadly.

Don't pay it off all at once. Make at least 6 payments. Each payment counts as a monthly payment even if you make one every week. And try the Capitol One rebuilder card or secured card. And be prepared to wait 6 months for a score if you have nothing on your reports

Awesome thanks! So I can make 6 payments over 6 weeks instead of waiting to pay it off over 6 months? That would be awesome

Fingerhut charges a lot of interest so I would pif if u can. U can make weekly payments if u chose. As long as u r paying the minimum each month. Even if u pay off the balance the account will report to the credit bureaus monthly as a positive account. Let the account age for six months and reevaluate. Try capital one preapproval for offers.

Hey! I remember when I was rebuilding and they pre qualified me for $300. Bought something for like $50 and paid it in full by the second month and they gave me a credit limit increase to $900. Never bought anything afterwards and it's now at $1700. They deff helped in my rebuild but don't have a purpose for it now. Everything they sell is overpriced. It's great for overall utilization.
