That's odd, I was approved for 2K Discover at a point at which I didn't expect to be approved -- but I had received a prequal offer and took it. Score around 635, no lates in over a year, no unpaid collections, no judgements. Just waiting for my negs to fall off at this point. AMEX I won't bother with until it's pristine with no negs. They still might turn me down, depending on how long their memory was, because I burned an AMEX maybe 25 years ago in my errant youth.
