Has anyone had old Chase accounts removed due to the recent action the CFPB took against Chase and them being ordered to cease collection activity on some accounts?
I had an old account with them that was sold to Midland and am wondering if anyone else has tried to get theirs removed due to this. Also, how would you know if your accout would be included in the cease collection order?
Thanks
A sold account no longer belongs to Chase and they would have so say in the collection activity of such accounts. The court order would only apply to collection accounts still owned by Chase.
I would try to get the Chase report of the OC deleted by citing BofA's recent decision to delete reporting of accounts that are sold to thrid party debt collectors.
Thanks for the reply.
I guess I was thinking that since some of the accusation were related to the practices they were using when they were selling those accounts that maybe it would be enough leverage to get said account removed.
I'm a believer in "catching more flies with honey than vinegar". I would appeal to their pride in being "better than their competition" and not letting their competition get ahead of them.
Mine is 6.5 years old and they wouldn't budge. If anyone has recent success, please share!
