Had a Chase CC, C/O paid in settlement. That's the short story.
Chase reporting differentlyt he TL on EX than EQ and TU.
Further more, on the Status field on EX, they are reporting the full C/O amount as "written off" which is also wrong.
Sent them a letter, got a reply "we've asked the three CRA to ... blah, blah) Nothing changed.
Sent them another letter after 3 months, got a reply "we've asked the three CRA to... bla, blah). Nothing changed again.
Send them a fax last week (there is not overnight drop for chase other than the PO box, or a Fax number). Wrote it in plain ENGLISH as I could (my DW picked at me for hours) what I was writing about, attached a copy of EX CR and circled the information on the paper so they can find it quickly. Told them again, that I've asked for this to be fixed, twice, and still nothing.
Got a letter today, Ms. Cunstumer Dispute Verifications states that they confirmed (?) with the 3 CRA and the information reported is correct. No mention of the WriteOff information. Now get this, she goes about writing that the account is sched to report until X date which is 4 months later than the CRA is currently reporting.
Other than the fact that they still have not addressed the issue, can you please tell me how can they verify the three CRAs without an iquiry (which will violate the statue as the account is already closed and they do not have PP), unless they have a back door that does not list on the reports hard or soft?
comments?
Gordon, you are going through Chase to ask them to fix their reporting to the CRAs is that correct ?
Is this something that you can dispute with the CRAs ? If you have a copy of a statement from Chase that shows paid - can you send this to EX and ask them to correct the inaccurate status/comments ?
Ok, got it. I am assuming that you have disputed via mail ( not online ) with the CRAs. They are obligated to correct inaccurate information so unless you want to send them an ITS letter then you are stuck with dealing with Chase.
How long ago did Chase state that they would correct ? Just wondering if it might take a few weeks or longer for the updates to go thru.....
Chase does not have to pull a CR to verify an account. They would have your information in their systems.
However, I doubt the CRA talks to them directly. They more than likely use EOscar which is an automated verification system. Send them an MOV and make them tell you how they verified.
The CRA is not going to take your word that information is reporting incorrectly. If they did, no one would have negative information on their CR.
It is the OC that needs to report the information correctly.
