I just posted the same - I wrote chase CEO an email last Friday and got a call back the same day from a Exec Customer Service Rep. Today she called me back again with my resolution - they agreed to delete the whole tradeline from my report! WOO HOO!
joeh05,
I am in a similar situation. I have 21 150 days late on mine with one each 30, 60, 90 and 120. This is killing my score. Let me know how you deal with Chase. I tried a PIF for the full $538, and then they sold it off to a CA.
2plus2:
Would you mind to post an example of the email that you send so I know the ball park to be in when writing mine?
Here is what I wrote the Chase CEO (I heard back the same day!!):

>I am writing to you to ask for a measure of goodwill as Chase has an excellent history of strong customer service. I have one fully paid and closed account that has 7 lates on it dating back to December of 2006. After my husband and I purchased our first home I became pregnant with our daughter. Unfortunately, I was put on bedrest early on in my pregnancy due to serious complications. Because of the bedrest I was put on disability leave from my job and my income was cut by more than half. We put our home for sale in January of 2006. After the birth of our daughter we were faced with even more financial strain because of her NICU stay in the hospital that left us with a high amount of medical debt. We were unable to sell our home until March of 2007. We went through extreme financial hardships because of all this.

>Since the sale of our home we have been living with my parents and have recovered from our financial debts. We have learned the true meaning of financial responsibility. We are now trying to prepare for the purchase of a home for our family of four. I am asking and pleading for a measure of goodwill to delete the 7 lates off of my credit report with all 3 bureaus. This one trade line is holding my family back from our dream of home ownership. I understand that you are under no legal obligation to respond to my letter of Goodwill, but I pray that you will find it in your heart to grant my family the goodwill of deleting the late payments off my credit report, or at least delete the 60 and 90 day lates.
>
>Sometimes we get into financial problems but through hard work my family has been able to overcome whatever God puts in our path. However, this time I am asking for your help in realizing my families’ dreams, with this gesture of goodwill and delete this reporting off my credit report; Chase will forever have my gratitude.
I intend to just to pay it off, and then GW the entry. But the odd thing is that Chase reported it for over 2 years, and then right when I contact them to PIF, they sell it off. Another person suggested that maybe they sold it earlier and just didn't report it.
Well, I called Chase today and they said that they sold it on March 9, 2009. That was 1-1/2 weeks after they received my PIF letter. The collection agency does not even have me in the system yet.
Regardless, I am going to pay Asset Acceptance so they don't report it, and then just GW the heck out of Chase.
