Not really getting anywhere today.
The first issue I'm running into is that calling a CCC to fix errors they made just makes them pass the buck and they say the credit bureaus are at fault.
Um..the CB's get the information FROM the credit card companies.

So send the one reporting the information wrong an ITS (Intent to sue) letter for improper reporting, I would only do this if you have paid them off but it is a way of getting them to do what the law requires.

Goal by year end: 680.
Reason for score improvement: home purchase (hopefully).
Biggest items on my report are my car loan and student loans. Car loan is at 6%, no need to be in a rush to pay it.
Student loans have no monthly payment due to income being to low (poor people payment plan or PPPP lol).
Biggest hurdles right now are several baddies, some paid, and some not, that adamantly refuse to PFD.
But honestly, I think I need to focus on trimming down some of my current debt before I worry about them.
I also noticed I had 3 baddies from Synchrony bank just up and fell off my report from about 5 years ago, as well as a verizon wireless collection.
If you don't mind me asking - For Synchrony accounts which companies were they for? I have one CO that was for victoria secret that's paid which I am hoping they remove.
I had 4 charge offs with Sync originally, Walmart, Paypal, Amazon and QVC.
Walmart one fell off after about 2 years and 3 months of being on my report.
The others fell off a few months ago.
The VS card has been issued by Commenity bank since at least 2012.
So are you sure it's not with them??

You are 100% correct - no wonder I couldn't find anything related to VS and Sync on here. Brain fart sorry.
It was actually for Pep Boys (Auto Care Center)
Your best bet is to sent Comenity a goodwill letter.
In my experience, a lot of places won't remove a charge off because "it's illegal" and cite the FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act).
It's perfectly legal to have a charge off removed, and no where in the FCRA does it say you can't.
I've asked people on the phone many times to show me where it says that, and they all go "well I'm not an attorney", which is a nice way of saying "because I said so".

I noticed while on a credit monitoring site tonight, my score, while only 595, is "36% higher than people your age".
I am in my late 20's. This means a 1/3rd of people my age are worse off credit wise than me.
I did some looking into for a charge off from Kohls that I paid.
They charged the account off only 113 days from the last payment. A full payment which brought the account current.
From what I read online...most credit card account charge offs occur after 180 days.
There isn't even a 120 day late reporting. Says "Maximum delinquency of of 90 days December 2018" on my credit reports.
But wait a minute..I paid it again 11/03/18, which would of made it only 89 days past due.
Kohl's said I made the payment from a closed account. An account I had not used in over a year.
Do I have a leg to stand on here?
It seems charge offs occur after 180 days of non-payment. I was only 113 days behind.
I also made a payment in November but Kohl's tried to charge the wrong account. I also know that was not the "default account".
They never notified me of this either.
I had 4 old synchrony accounts fall off as well, all from about 4/5 years ago. I wonder what happened. Not complaining at all, but I know that I was not at the 7 year mark yet. I had sent gw letters in the past because I paid all the collection agencies that were attached to them and was denied. And then within the last 60 days, they all started falling off.

This is a known issue now. many folks here are seeing the same thing happen to themselves also. Congrats!
