Collection Account with Midwest Recovery

Hey guys,
Since I've been cleaning things up and my scores are recovering I had a collection pop up out of the blue. It's a from a payday loan company I've never even heard of. I researched it and from what I can tell this company wasnt even licensed in La until several months AFTER I supposedly took out the loan. I disputed like a dummy and of course it came back verified I just used never heard of company (because I haven't!) I DID take out a payday loan online in 2012 but that account is long gone. This says DOFD is early 2014 like Feb. Well today Wallet hub sends alert saying it was removed from TU at least. I want to resolve this however the bank account I had back then is long gone and all paper records were destroyed in a flood so I have no way to prove anything plus if TU took it off maybe the others will to....??? 🤷

Which CRA came back verified since you said TU removed it.

Re: Collection Account with Midwest Recovery

I feel like EQ doesn't really verify anything but comes back with it verified.  They are ridiculous.  I have some collections that the other two couldn't verify and removed but EQ said it's verified.

Well if the OC fell off after 7 yrs. If the time limit to sue on the old debt expired under your state's statute of limitations, that does not mean that a creditor or bill collector must stop contacting you about it. They can ask you to pay the debt. They just can't sue you or threaten to sue you for it. Whos the collection agency and amount?
