Hi guys! I have an old sprint bill in collections and it should fall off in 2022 (yay)! Day of 1st delinquency always stays the same but every month the "date reported" "status date" and "balance date" change. I tried to read up on it but it was confusing and what I got from it was that the "status date" should never change. Is that true or am I understanding wrong? I've tried to have it removed early with no luck🤧. Like I said I've read up on it and know what the dates mean but is it normal for them to keep updating those 2?
If it is an unpaid collection it will continue to update monthly.

The only date that cannot change is the DoFD.
Thoss two dates will likely update every month since most collections update every month to keep your scores suppressed and it is correct to update those dates because that is when they are updating the bureaus to say it isn't paid and what the balance is.
Any other date really is inconsequential and even if it were incorrect and you disputed it, that does not mean it will be removed, but can be updated with the correct info.
Your two options are to see about PFD or wait it out.
It is way too early to see about early removal via EE and disputing will only update it and ding your score every time you do it.
The date of first delinquency (DOFD) is a date-certain that does not change based on any later updated reporting of payment or delinquency status. It is the date of the initial delinquency in the current chain of account delinquency that occured with the original creditor account upon which the collection is being based. That specific date will not change for a given collection, and the debt collector is required to obtain that date from the original creditor and separately and explicitly report that DOFD to the CRA no later than 90 days after the debt collector initially reports their collection to the CRA. See FCRA 623(a)(5).
Exclusion of the collection must then be done by the CRA no later than 7 years plus 180 days from that reported DOFD. See FCRA 605(c).
A creditor or a debt collector, when making any reporting to a CRA on a delinquent account, must include the current status, which for a creditor will be the period since initial delinquency, such as 30-late, 60-late, etc., or simply as CO if also charged-off. As the period since initial delinquency increases with each subsequent updated reporting on a delinquent account, be it a creditor or collection, the negative scoring impact increases.
The date reported and the status date thus change with each updated reporting, lengthening the time since intial delinquency.
A collection that is updated and remains unpaid will continue to have and unpaid current status and status date for any subsequent updated date of reporting. However, a collection does not explicitly report the number of days since initial delinquency, such as 120-late, 150-late, etc. Rather, the period since initial delinquency is simply determined by the CRA (and by FICO for scoring purposes) by calculating the time between the previously reported DOFD and updated currrent and continued delinquency status. Thus, updated collections continue to notify that the debt remains unpaid, and thus negatively afftect scoring.
Ty!
Next question I have is I know different bureaus have different info but I do have a CO reported on all 3. 2 of them have 1/1/1 for 30/60/90 but the 3rd report shows 0/0/0 and that score seems to be higher. Anyone know what's up with that? I tried to pay them but they said they didn't have it so I paid the collection agency that did so I was wondering if maybe it didn't have time to report before I paid.
How large is this debt?
There is $0 on all reports for it.
originally $300 cl.... I believe they added late fees and it went to like 429, but I paid the collection and it was removed. Now I only have the original creditor on my reports and $0 for the CO.
Is CO showing in the payment history profile as a status for any of the prior months?
A creditor has the option of reporting delinquency status as either the days late, such as 30-late, 60-late, etc., or after the debt has also been charged-off, as CO.
All CO. 1 has no payment info and the other 2 bureaus 111 co I believe
