I am not sure if it will be removed...but it may be updated as paid. Maybe you could contact the OC (since they took the payment) and have them tell the CA to scram!!!

Call the OC back and have them pull the account from the CA. More then likely, this debt was assigned to a CA, versus sold. Once pulled back, they should delete the tradeline, if not, send them a DV.

I had a medical bill that I had forgotten about and it ended up being sent to a CA. I had made a payment on it but forgot about it and was never sent a bill after my payment. I know that's bad. Anyhow I got a SW alert saying my score had dropped and it was this account. I decided to just send a payment to the OC for the balance. I got a call from the CA about it. I told them that I had sent a payment to the OC. I was on my lunch break so I didn't get to ask the person over the phone but will this get removed as a collection on my CR? If the OC takes my payment it should right?
Once the OC accepts payment, all they are required to do is notify the CA that payment was received. The CA will more than likely update the TL to Paid and it will remain., or simply delete their TL if they wish. Worse case is sending GW letters to the CA.
