I received an alert this am thru credit monitoring service that a collections account (less than 3 years old) has been deleted from my credit report. It was with NCO. So I guess my questions are: Does this possibly mean they sold the debt and are just deleting themselves from my report? Is this debt going to re-appear in the future? I don’t understand why they’d just delete it. I’m not complaining but it just seems too good to be true because it was for a large amount. And when it seems too good to be true then it usually is. I have asked for PFD with 2 accounts but not this one. No clue why it would have been deleted. Any ideas as to what might be going on?

honestly I would call to see if it was sold, and if it was I would try contacting the new owners and pay before it gets put back on.....then again I'm no expert...
I wouldn't call anyone or do anything to rock the boat, but that's just me. I hope it stays off

+1!
But have your DV letters in hand just in case a new CA pops up!
A new debt collector could report prior to sending a DV, so getting a name and making a pay for not reporting offer would be a prudent option.
