Good Morning!
Many of you on this site are very inspiring!!
I am working on rebuilding. I just paid off a settled debt with Portfolio Recovery. My scores are 610ish. I have a capital one I use and pay off but other than student debt that's all I have. The account is showing 0 but hasn't fallen off yet. How much should I expect my scores to raise once it does?
Thanks,
Heather
It's really impossible to say, since it depends on the totality of your credit profile.
How long has the collection been on your credit reports and what was your score before it was added? Assuming your credit reports have stayed similar aside from the collection, I would guess your score will return to around where it was.

As mentioned above, it's absolutely impossible to say. It could be a few points, or it could be 100 points. It just depends on your profile.
To give you a frame of reference, my last collection disappeared recently... my score really didn't change significantly... any changes were most likely due to the fact that I've been getting my utilization under control.
I have a dirty file with several charge-offs from several years ago so that is like the reason why I didn't see a significant score bump.
if you have COs, you'll probably not see that much of a bump.
