Collections Reporting Need Help ASAP!!!

Good morning,

Here is the short story cleaning up credit and I have the below 3 collections on my CR's and TU rpt states late payment 1 month ago and EQ is rpt late 3 months ago.  I know after reading thru the forums these are the worst collection agencies to have.  My first question is the way they are reporting translating into late pays?  I have no late payments on auto loan or cc in fact I just paid cc down to under 9% which I am hoping will bring my scores up some but these collections are killing it because they are updating monthly.  I have the funds to pay off however I need to negotiate PFD's I know to get best results. I know I owe the debt so should I DV first or just go straight for PFD's?  I need to corrected quick for mortgage.  Lastly does ANYONE have a good e-mail contact or phone number to get to try for the PFD's?

If you see a better strategy please advise these are nightmares!!

Re: Collections Reporting Need Help ASAP!!!

I am a bit confused by your asking if the way the CAs are reporting translates to late pays.   Because then you say you have no lates on your CCs.

In order for these to be with a CA, they were either COd or in a collection status because of late payments.  A CA themselves cannot report late payments, only what the OC reported to them.

There is not enough information on these reports.  I would suggest getting your free ones from each CRA at https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp They will give you much more detailed information.

Also, I would contact the OCs of each CC and ask them if you can pay them and recall the collections accounts from the CAs.

Re: Collections Reporting Need Help ASAP!!!

Thank you for the fast reply.

I think Jefferson Capital is reporting in violation.  EX has a $88 payment and first delinquency of April 2010??  As you can see from TU these accounts are older and I have NEVER had any contact with any of them yet.  The only OC reporting is First Premier as a CO.  The other OC are out of business from what I can tell on the internet.  I have my annual reports from all three and Jefferson Cap is the culprit.  What is the best course of action to take now? Send DV's to all three or go straight for the violation letter with Jefferson?  I will contact First Premier since that is the OC and has a CO to see if they will pull it back but since it is so old I am not sure how good my chances will be with that but worth a try I guess.  Also I filed Bankruptcy 05 and discharged in 2006 and the below account should have been included all this time, should I dispute it with the credit bureau's or leave it alone since I need this mortgage approval soon.  Because of the way it is reporting on TU could this be severely impacting score negatively since it had 90 day late of less impact due to age?

Re: Collections Reporting Need Help ASAP!!!

I apparently can't see what you see.  As I said, I don't see enough information.

If all of these were included in a BK and discharged, they should show as paid and IIB on your CR.  They would still remain on your CR from the DoFD of the OC.

If you have the paperwork showing these included, write a letter to the CRAs and include all the documentation to support it.

A 90 day late is a major derogatory and will impact your score for a long time.
