Company says they did not pull my CR

I went to an auto dealer on 8/20 and had my CR pulled. Today, I get an alert that says the same company pulled it again today. (Also got an alert for the 20th)

I called and talked to the manager and I am told they only pulled the CR on 8/20, not today.

Now what am I supposed to do? Each pull is a 1-2 point drop in score.

This is on TU if it matters.

Re: Company says they did not pull my CR

Where are you getting the alerts from?

Do you have any monitoring service, like TC?

Re: Company says they did not pull my CR

I have the monitoring service through EQ. They are sometimes slow in reporting the alert but are accurate as far as the inquiry itself.

I tend to believe the monitoring service over the auto dealer. First of all, it is the same company that asked me to do some unethical and illegal things to get better credit and second, when I talked to the manager, the first thing he told me was that any credit pulls in a 2 week period for the same thing only count against you once.

He says they did not do it, he would be the one to run it and him only. However, I sat right there and watched the salesman put in my info and pull my report off the computer.

At any rate, I told the manager I better not find any more pulls on my CR or I would file a complaint.

Re: Company says they did not pull my CR

I have had the same collection agency Kimball, Tirey and St John  pull my reports (EXP) 6 times since July 9th. They pulled it on 7/09/2008, 8/06/2008, again 8/06/2008, 8/07/2008, 8/09/2008, and 8/15/2008. Talk about a score drop.

(Law Offices according to their website- specializes in evictions and rental collections) I am current on my rent, and have never been evicted. So lord only knows what they want... maybe they are trying to get me to pay Charter Communications... (see my other post)

A little excessive don't you think?

Re: Company says they did not pull my CR

I would contact them and ask them why they are pulling your report.

However, if there may be a large unpaid debt of yours out there that is within SOL, I would lay low.

Re: Company says they did not pull my CR

The 2nd duplicate isn't affecting you, but I am sure it is a matter principle. I would be sure not to deal with them again. If this is a franchise, I would write a complaint to the main office, possibly make a complaint to the BBB.
