That's great to hear Flacka! I'm happy for you. I currently have a small debt in collection with ARS. This is the first collection I am trying to get removed entirely from my credit report. Everything I've read online has stated to send a Pay For Delete (PFD) BEFORE issuing payment, then wait until they have sent back affirming the agreement before paying.
However, when I called ARS, they flat out refused to send a "Pre-PFD". They said they would absolutely remove it from my credit reports, but I had to pay first. That is their policy and that's just the way it is.
So, my question for you and maybe Jon, if he is still active, is...did you recieve any written confirmation from ARS that they would delete the collection BEFORE paying? Or did you pay first, then they actually made good on their word?
Hopefully you'll respond back soon! I'm in a bit of a rush to get this settled before I get my credit score ran by a landlord!
Thank you!
They told me the same thing! I received absolutely no confirmation that anything would be deleted before paying. They made good on their word! It wasn't even a day later after sending the payment I received an email with a letter attached saying that it would be removed entirely from my credit report. The next month it was off, like it never existed
Good luck! Hope this helps!!
Thank you so much for the reply! That was very helpful. I emailed and faxed them a PFD letter a couple days ago, and never got a response back...
I guess I'm going to go ahead and pay it, and hope they make good on their word in my case!
Thanks again the quick reply!
Will do! I talked to a ARS representative today, and made my payment in full. I was assured they would delete the collection from all 3 major credit bureaus and send me a paid in full letter. He said this should all be handled by midweek. So I'll update then! Fingers crossed...
So I'm glad to report that, after paying my bill in full on Friday afternoon, I recieved an email response Monday morning with two letters attached. One letter stating that my account is now considered paid in full/settled, and the other stating that ARS has sent a request to the 3 majors credit bureaus, asking for a DELETION of "any and all information" regarding my account.
I'm quite pleased with the outcome. I guess ARS really does make good on their word, even if they play hard ball at first.
Now I'm hoping this will boost my credit score a bit!
ALSO, does anybody know usually how long it'll take for the 3 majors to delete the information? I read earlier in this thread that it took 1 week for someone. Does anybody know if that's average. Also, once they delete it, if your credit score were to improve, would that take place instantly?
Thanks for the help from everyone in this thread!
Does anyone have the email address that ARS sent from? I am trying to reach them... but I'm currently in Afghanistan and it's somewhat hard without phones. Wish me luck on the PFD as well!!! Thanks for your guys' help!

Best of luck!
I am thankful for this thread. I am looking to do a PFD with ARS. I will call them tomorrow and will update my experience. Hopefully, we can keep the encouragement going and share the good news
