Continuing on from my previous thread

Continuing on from my previous thread in "Credit Cards" that had to do with Rebuilding Credit

http://ficoforums.myfico.com/fico/board/message?board.id=creditcard&thread.id=182919&view=by_date_ascending&page=4

I have a BofA collections currently that is showing up in TU incorrectly... which i paid in full and is reporting that it has not been settled, i currently have the proof that it has been paid in full, how do i contact TU stating that it is reporting incorrectly, and i would like it to be removed from the CR. I know theres a specific way to say it. I have the paper ready to fax.

Thanks!

Re: Continuing on from my previous thread

Easy! Was this a judgment? If so, dispute it with TU or if you had an agreement with Creditor for deletion you need to have them delete it.

In any case, is there anything else wrong with this particular account? Meaning incorrect dates, high balance, Estimated time for removal, etc...

Re: Continuing on from my previous thread

A judgment is a public record.  Someone sued you, a tax lien, something of that sort.

Contact BOA and tell them it is still showing unpaid and ask them to report it correctly.

Re: Continuing on from my previous thread

If you dispute as paid, that is what it will be update to if they verify.  If not it would be deleted.

i dont get it.... since they are reporting false information... arent they violating something. dont they need to remove it if this is the case?

Re: Continuing on from my previous thread

If they can not verify the account then it will be removed.  If they verify it as paid it will be updated to paid.

The CRAs only report the information given them by the creditors.  It is possible BOA has not told them it is paid.

How old is the account?
