You do not seem to be getting what I am saying.
Yes, BOA is supposed to report it as PIF.
Yes, you can dispute as PIF, no balance due or whatever it is that falls in those categories.
The CRA will then try to verify with BOA to see what they say. If BOA says yes it is PIF then they (CRA) will update your reports to reflect it as PIF.
If they (CRA) do not get a response from BOA then the TL will be deleted.
The CRA is not going to take your word for it, they have to investigate.
Ok I get it now.
It might work but I am afraid they will just update it to paid. You can always try.
Is the collection from BOA or is it a CA?
Thank you for posting that. It made a huge difference and now I understand.
Your debt to BOA is paid but it does not mean what you owe the CA is paid. You may owe them additional interest.
No... thats the only thing showing..... whats to the right of the picture i posted.... and its only showing up on TU not EQ or EX
from what it looks like.... the CA is reporting this no? if so.... can i DV it? and if they cant validate it..... will they delete it? or is it BofA reporting it... and if i DV it they will just update it?
What my understanding is that i have read threads regarding similar issues like this... and they send a dispute to the CRA and they remove it due to inaccurate information....
i do have written proof that this debt has been PIF via FAX.
or do i need a letter signed with letterhead from BofA before doing anything?
Just because the account with BOA is PIF does not mean you do not still owe the CA additional money.
Yes, send them a DV letter. There is no time frame for them to validate, they can not continue collection activity until they do.
BOA is not reporting and you can not DV an OC.
As I stated before, the CRA will not delete a TL just because you tell them it is reporting inaccurately. They will conduct an investigation on their own and make a determination afterwards.
IMHO: I would not contact the CRB TU to dispute this paid CA at this time. I would contact the CA in writing requesting the they update their records and report accurate info to CRBs.The CA is the only one that the CRB would listen to that would assist in the removal of this inaccurate report. If you disputed with the CRB they will start a new investigation. If I am wrong someone step in and correct me.
I am in a similar situation where a CA reported inaccurate info to CRBs and I disputed and all three cRBs verified that this alleged debt is mine. This is after they refused to answer my DV letter. I have proof that this debt is not mine, but since I am in credit gardening stage I am waiting for their next move. Sometime you must play their game of not responding.
Raylee God bless you and God bless America!
