Credit Card Question

I had a Capital One card that is now charged off.  The available credit limit was only $300, shows highest balance was $1700 (guess with fee after fee after fee) but the collection shows I owe $3300!?!  Doesn't that seem to be really high Smiley Mad

If anyone can ring in that would be amazing! Smiley Tongue

Re: Credit Card Question

That's wrong..a CA can't charge you interest or add on any other fees.  CA total should be same as total from the OC at chargeoff. Who is the CA?

I'm not sure if the first move would be a DV for that total, or a dispute on it.

I'm sure one of those in the know will ring in!

Re: Credit Card Question

I would DV and ask for full media validation. That's so exorbitant. They are out of line with charging 1000% of the CL in fees.

Re: Credit Card Question

Hmm.. about that. Not sure if the CA canot absolutely add any interest, fees etc after buying it from the OC. depends upon the original agreement. So I heard that the fine print might say something like the the interest would continue to accrue during collections process. Again not sure! I am still looking it up as I am inthe same boat.

chase cc CL-$800

What I actually owed at the time of collections - $700

Sold to JDB (AAC) - $1375 (200-300 bucks id imagine the real purchase price to be!)

The very first listing by the JDB (AAC) - $1875!!!

I had first disputed with the CRA and it came back 'verified' as I had expected it to.

I have sent out a DV to AAC. Waiting for some stupid reply so I can send that back to the CRA with anthother dispute as I decide what to do next...I hope they messed up somewhere...Im looking...
