I have a credit card that has gone to collections. Both the credit card and the collections are showing up on my credit reports. So I am getting dinged twice on my CRs for the same debt. Is there anyway to get one removed? I have disputed it once but it still remains.
Also, I have what looks like a medical bill listed on my report. How do I find out what company this belongs to so I can pay it? It looks like this on my Equifax (and since it is on Equifax and the DOLA is Nov 1, 2004 does that mean it will fall off this year on Nov 1 since that is 7 years?):

If the CC is now sent to a CA then they will both report. However, if the CC shows a balance then it is likely that the CC still owns the account and you can try to deal with them and get the CA removed. If the CC shows a $0 balance, then you need to deal with the CA and the CC derog will be there unless you manage to PFD.

You need to get your actual report from www.annualcreditreport.com or from the actual CRA. There will be a list of contacts at the bottom with every account in your report.
DOLA is not what the 7 or 7.5 years goes from. It goes from DOFD. And even if it were, this November would be 6 years (2010).
Thank you so much BrandonSS! That information was very helpful! I will work on the CC and get my credit report.
Also, I guess I am living in the future - I don't know why I thought 2011 would be this November, but you are correct!
I appreciate the help!
