Credit Protection Association Help

Hey guys! First post on here.
Have been reading up here and working on building up my scores.
I currently have a Capitol one Platinum 300
Overstock 750 (with sct)
And I just signed up for a self lender loan.
I have 3 collections on my record.
CPA being the only one that shows up on all 3 bureaus and the lowest price one but also the one that is the hardest to deal with.
They are charging me for an electric bill for a time after I moved out from where I was living. The account had switched names and yet I am getting it on my report so I called and explained and they said they will look into. Of course that is going nowhere and taking too long so I ask for a PFD just to be done with it and because it is for such a small amount I would prefer just to move on with my life and I need this off my credit ASAP to get a car loan. I am not sure what to do or who to talk to but if anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated!

Re: Credit Protection Association Help

Why would you agree to pay for an account that you state was in fact not yours?? I understand you need to get this taken care of scorewise, but I would never pay off something I didn't truly owe?

Re: Credit Protection Association Help

Hello. Thank you for your reply.
2 reasons to answer that. 1. When I moved out the account was supposed to be put into my exes name and I moved in a with a buddy but had no legal address change so no proof and 2. Its 158. I will be saving more than 158 on the term of the loan after getting this renewed so it is plus EV. (Expected value)

Re: Credit Protection Association Help

Make sure you get a PFD in writing first before you pay anything. Never trust a collection agency.

Re: Credit Protection Association Help

Sorry for late response. Thank you. Yes I got one removed from pay for delete after getting an email agreeing to remove after paid and now I am using letters to the bureaus for the last 2 items.

Re: Credit Protection Association Help

Did you get CPA to agree to pay to delete? If so, how did you accomplish it?

Re: Credit Protection Association Help

I did not. Still working on it. On month 3 of a credit repair service to get these removed because the company has been unresponsive. Will update when either deleted or settled.
