Credit report question.

So I had a dispute for my address, and I wanted to check a current report. I have already pulled my free yearly report, is there a way to check an updated with out paying?

Re: Credit report question.

EX gives you a free monthly credit report and a FICO score if you sign up for a free account. WalletHub and Credit Karma give you TU and EQ for free. It updates daily for WalletHub and weekly for Credit Karma. You can also get a 3-bureau credit report with FICO scores for $1 with CreditCheckTotal. Make sure you call and cancel before 7 days since they will start charging you $29.99/month on day 7.

Re: Credit report question.

So the update was on EQ and it was a deletion of personal information, which doesn't show up on Creditkarma. And I don't want to pay or sign up for a free trial because well......I forget to cancel.

Apply for CLIs until denied, then use that letter to order a free report. I've got a stack of em, they're good for 60 days each.  No reason to ever not know what's on your credit report. Let the system work for you.

I don't think that's a good idea. Isn't that going to end up in unnecessary inquiries? I'd rather pay to get the report instead of wasting inquiries just to get a free report.

There's a free way to get the actual report from EQ but I don't know if I'm allowed to post here. Google the FT thread on this topic OP.

Re: Credit report question.

If you filed a dispute with a CRA that resulted in the successful change or deletion of information, the CRA is required to send a revised credit report as an accompanyment to the Notice of Results of Reinvestigation that shows that the changes have actually be done by that CRA.

Did you receive a Notice of Results of Reinvestigation concluding your prior dispute, and if it stated that the address was corrected, did they provide a copy of your credit report?

No. SP are the norm for CLI.

Re: Credit report question.

If a creditor does their own internal account review and offers a CLI, that is coded as soft per CRA policy.

However, if the consumer initiates a request for new or additional credit, then it can be coded has hard, as it then becomes a separate permissible purpose under FCRA 604 of a consumer initiated request.

Re: Credit report question.

Rjford84: Start a dispute. The first thing they do is give you your report before you submit the dispute, so if you're mistaken and don't need to make the correction after all, just save a copy and exit out. If you do, continue.
