I have seen a number of posts reference this company.  I was thinking about applying because my score is super low, 400's and I need to start rebuilding my credit.  Anything to keep in mind? Any advice or other places like this?

CJ does not do a credit check as far as I know.  Generally, you are approved based on your income. The only draw back is that you have to use it in order for it to show up on your CR. 

Most need to pay a down payment for 6 months then it becomes a regular store CC.

I have it but have never used it.

You could try for a CC like Tribute or Cortrustbank Mastercard.  They do not give high limits and there are fees attached.  Maybe even a secured CC.

Great for helping your utilization.  Also keep in mind that they only report to EX, and TU.

I was approved for $2500 credit limit. Bought something so it should post soon. Should help my scores out

In your case...CJ would be great...you can help your UTL...and add a new account...while having no credit pulls....you need to be repairing...before getting any new credit...but CJ is great...most of us have them...

Since it does not report to Equifax what is everyone doing about that?

There is nothing we can do...accept that it is reporting to TU & EX...and keep trucking...

I know about that, is there another account like crown jewelers that reports to equifax? large balance credit card that poor saps like me can get?

No...unless you get one of those catalog cards...like USA Gold...but all of them don't report to all 3 CRAs either...
