Current Standing with letters

Okay I am going out on a limb here with some disputes:

BOA letter emailed to one of the CEOs to remove a few lates to a paid off in good standing mortgage - asked in a very honest but nice way.

MOV letter going out to equifax  regarding an account that was supposidly verified to a closed collection agency for my student loan.

Letter to Capital1 to remove two inquiries for their prequal card, which wasnt supposed to report to the CRA.

One PFD letter going out for one of the medical bills to a local collection agency.

One comlaint to the BBB regarding a collection agency who hung up on me and told me "You should have paid your bills".

ALL Adresses that do not belong to me are deleted from all my reports except TransUnion but I will write them soon.

Any advice on any of this will help!  Smiley Happy

Re: Current Standing with letters

"Letters" have different flavors.  Some compel response, others dont.  It seems you have a hodge-podge of different "letters."

I am unsure of what advice you are seeking....

Requests for GW deletion or PFD offers fall in the "no response required" category.  They are informal letters.

MOV requests and formal disputes do have statutory periods for response.  Those you monitor as to their compliance.

Complaints to a BBB are to a third party who can send letters to the furnisher, but they have no legal enforcement authority.

Did you also send your complaint to the FTC, who is charged with enforecement authority?  Those do require furnisher response back to the FTC.

Re: Current Standing with letters

BOA letter emailed to one of the CEOs to remove a few lates to a paid off in good standing mortgage - asked in a very honest but nice way.

The reason I did this is because it is a good standing account and was paid off, but has a few lates on it.  It is an attempt to get those removed, it is markd as paid as agreed but still negative.

MOV letter going out to equifax  regarding an account that was supposidly verified to a closed collection agency for my student loan.

The reason I did this is because the collection agency that I was paying I think is closed.  Their phone number gives  fast busy signal when called and their letters return NO response.  SO I think they must be closed, and Equifax is just playing games when I try to dispute it.  The just changed one of the dates to the month before.

Letter to Capital1 to remove two inquiries for their prequal card, which wasnt supposed to report to the CRA.

This is for obvious reasons, an attempt to get the inquiries off the report to get some extra points.  I filled out a prequal app and it wasnt supposed to report to the CRA.

One PFD letter going out for one of the medical bills to a local collection agency.

This is for a  PFD on one of the 6 medical collections,  I agreed to pay them 75% if they would remove ALL The negative entries. This is also my first attempt to do a PFD, I didnt send the ones I was going to before because that is the one I reported to the BBB below.

One comlaint to the BBB regarding a collection agency who hung up on me and told me "You should have paid your bills".

This is because the collection agency was rude, very very unprofessional and hung up on me.

Does it look like I did this right?  I am still quite a newbie..

Also, any idea how long it takes after negative items get removed?  Smiley Sad

Re: Current Standing with letters

You are doing a great job!

You are doing it just as you should, attacking every negative on your report. You really want to end up with them all gone if possible.

If you don't get a response in a few weeks you might want to try sending him a regular letter using snail mail. CEOs have a staff that responds to all his mail.

Good thinking here! If the MOV doesn't work you might want to DV this, the phone number is incorrect and is on your report.

This is okay, but I woudln't really worry about it.

This is because the collection agency was rude, very very unprofessional and hung up on me. Go poke em in the eye! (This is why you want to do everything by mail.)

Does it look like I did this right? You did great! I am still quite a newbie..

Also, any idea how long it takes after negative items get removed?  Smiley Sad You should really give them 30 days to respond to all of this. You need to be a little careful with asking for too much at once. The CRAs will sometimes start to consider a person's requests as frivolous because they are asked repeatedly to check the same information. You need to space out your requests somewhere between 30 to 45 days to avoid this.

It will take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months for a negative to actually be removed from your reports for your efforts done here. First the CAs need to decide to remove it, then they notify the CRAs, then the CRAs take a bit of time themselves.

You are doing a great job! Keep up the hard work!

Re: Current Standing with letters

Okay...Here's a bit of advice.

Slow down a bit and put all your efforts towards one problem at a time. Don't write any more letters or make any more requests for at least a month. You have now questioned all the negatives on your report, you need to give everyone a chance to respond.

The collections are your biggest enemy, they are probably dragging your score down by 100 points or more. Hopefully they agree to your PFD letter but what happens if they don't? Start thinking about how you are going to respond to a denial.

Are all your medical collections with one CA?

I know you have had success in removing 2 collections. How old are your remaining collections?

Could you list them here?

Okay..About your scores...

The very minute a collection is removed from your report your scores will go up! Actually that is true for any negative information. It may however be some time before you will actually know it! Credit Karma seems to be slow at picking up the fact that something has been deleted. It could take a week for them to report the deletion. MyFICO seems to be faster with it taking only a few days.

You will probably see your scores jump the most as your last 3 collections are removed regardless of their age.

Don't worry, you are doing everything right! It just takes time!

Re: Current Standing with letters

Okay this is where I am right now, I really appreciate your ALL OF YOUR GUYS help with this because I cant afford to mess this up.  I have my first PFD  out in the mail with the CSD collection.   This sprint is unverifyable and was removed from the other two beauros, but it came back verified on Equifax.  I was going to ask for a MOV to see what they do.

I dont know about experian but it is right up there with TU, they were almost the same the last time I looked.

Wow...I mean just...Wow!

4 collections less than 2 years old!

LovesGoodCredit they probably talk about you down at the CA when another of your collections crosses their desk. It probably goes something like this:

Pete: Yo, Tony!

Tony: Yeah wudda ya want?

Pete: I got another one from LovesGoodCredit!

Tony: Ya gotta be kidding me, you just jerkin my chain?

Pete: No, I'm serious! You know where we put the BIG calculator we had to use last time? I can't find it.

We don't live in France, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Norway, The UK, Japan, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Canada, or the other 25 industrialized nations that have socialized medicine and you can see a doctor for free. We live in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! You need to pay money to see a doctor or don't go!

I hate to get political, but you are a perfect example of why we need socialized medicine in this country. If you lived in any of the other 35 industrialized nations it would be impossible for you to be in the situation you now find yourself in. It just really p&**&^s me off that we let this happen in the USA.

Okay...Enough of that...Back to our regular programming.

Those 4 collections are your big hitters. You need them removed. You have your letters sent out, it is now just a matter of waiting.

Don't worry, we will get these removed! It might just take a little time.

Re: Current Standing with letters

LOL.

Thank you!  Smiley Happy

Yes, I dont know remember getting the bills for those either.  They were mixing me and my mom for a while but I got hers removed from my credit.  I just didnt see the bill or something and wasnt paying attention.  The kids have been to the DR a lot but more so my mom with her strokes, seizures, or cancer.

Just so much of a mess, but now they have been verified, I sent the PFD letters.

So if that dont work do I do hippa?  :-/

I have already opted out and deleted old adresses.  I have paid so many bills I wish they would calculate the numerous other bills your paying!  Anyway, thats what I was saying before, they were mixing them up and the 116 dollar one got removed.   They probably came in my moms name or something, either way I gotta take care of these.

I dont remember leaving any visit with a balance, and these must have been billed afterwards.

Re: Current Standing with letters

Hi  LovesGoodCredit,

You are very wise doing your homework first, before moving forward.Smiley Wink

On medical debt, the DoFD is the date of medical service. Date assigned is the date the CA, opened a file for this debt.

So your actual DoFD are going to be older, then the Date it was assigned to the CA.

Two important dates to know on each debt. 1)DoFD, 2) your states SOL.

Also find out who owns the debt. If the OC still owns it, ask if they will accept payment and pull the debt back from the CA.

If the CA owns the debt, try using PFD letters since the  OC is out of the picture.

Some encouragement for you, I managed to get all of my medical debts and my DH too, removed by PFD's or by GW letters.

Good Luck to you.
