DOFD after Date Closed?

I have an old, closed account that is showing my DOFD is later than the Date Closed. Can I use this to get the TL deleted from my report?

Re: DOFD after Date Closed?

Not necessarily, unless you can prove the DOFD is wrong, and even then there's the chance it might be corrected instead of deleted.

Scenarios exists which would make this example logical. I am not saying this applies to you but as an example, CCs come and go and there are examples in here of creditors closing and the cardholder decides not to pay after the issuer closes shop. Another example would be a car loan. If you get into an accident, that balance becomes due because the security is lost. In a scenario like that, the DOFD would happen after the date of closure if defaulted. Another example might be that the CC issuer decides to close because you opened excessive TLs or had baddies, for example, and the debtor defaults our of spite or for whatever reason.

Thanks. This is one of the few things remaining on my report and I'd love to have it pristine!
