I've read several posts regarding the difficulty, tactics and "incentives" offered by CreditOne Account Specialists to intice you to KEEP this often predatory card so I was READY (picture me in a Gilly suit, wearing face paint and body armor, charging toward the enemy) when I called early this morning to cancel not one but TWO CreditOne Platinum VISA cards. I was pleasantly surprised.
- Their first offer was to "waive the annual fee for a period of six months for being an outstanding CreditOne customer." I declined.
- The second offer was to "refund the previous months annual fee." I declined.
- The final offer was to "waive the annual fee for six months, refund the previous month and to explore a credit line increase." I declined again.
It was at this point I was thanked for being a CreditOne customer. We then moved onto the cancellation of the second card where all of the above was offered once again and met with the same levels of rejection. The CSR was polite (albeit it difficult to understand her at times), she thanked me multiple times for my patronage, and asked if I had any questions regarding the closing of the accounts.
All in all not a terrible experience. Now let's see if there are any shenanigans in the wake of this action.
Congrats! Yeah keep a keen eye on your reports to make sure they dont throw a fee or whatever at you to screw you over. They did their thing. Time to move on.

I asked them to send me a letter stating that I owed 0 and the account was closed and they did!!
My FICO scores did not move. I lost 1 point on my Vantage Equifax score.
