How do find out the date of default from an old cc that has moved to multiple CAs? It should or will fall off but it is being re-aged. Thanks.
Your free full reports from annualcreditreport.com will show either a DoFD or an estimated fall-off date. You can't go by online third party services (like this site, credti karma, credit sesame, etc), as that data is stripped out.
Thanks. One of bureaus shows the date when it was transferred to the new CA.

Also, if it is being reported by multiple CA's dispute all but the latest reported entry as "collector does not have collection authority" - do not dispute ALL of them, that will just confuse the hell out of the CRA's. Make sure you put the above statement in the comment block.

That date is not relevant to anything other than determining who has collection authority with multiple collection reports of the same item.
I just went to Experian and they do not show the date that it will drop off nor the date of default.
As Norman says you would have to get your reports from the annual credit report website. The other way to get the info is to order the 3 reports directly from the CRAs and have them delivered to you through the mail. If you are working on your credit you should always have hard copes in front of you to work off of they have more info than online reports show.
Thanks. I have a PDF of my current Transunion report. What is the best way to challenge or request verification of a date of default?

If you question the DoFD then you would want to send a Direct Dispute to the creditor and you only want to do it if the TL is past states SOL on an unpaid debt

I tried a Direct Dispute before. I do not have the account number and the CA said that they did not have reply as a result.
