Difference between collections and late accounts?

I signed up my fiancée and myself for credit check total and from what I can tell none of the 5 account she has are in collection, they are all just reporting late. Is this just as bad?

If she is still late you should remedy that asap. How late? When was she late?

Re: Difference between collections and late accounts?

She was still late but we've since paid everything off. Several months to a year plus of being late per account. But at this point it's all paid.

If anything was COed they are the worst and will affect Fico the entire time on file. 30 day lates are minor and usually sting just first 2 years, 60 days can go for entire time on file but lessen after 2 years any 90 days plus will be a hit entire time on file. You need to send GW letters to these entities asking for removal of the lates if the account didnt close as a CO. If it is a CO ask for removal of the whole TL. Good luck Smiley Happy

A collection account would have been the equivalent of a COed OC account so you would have 2 derog hits instead of one.
