Dispute Paid Collection

I have a paid off collection and have heard people who will dispute a paid collection and a lot of the time it will get removed.

How would I go about doing that? What reason should I give for the dispute, just that its paid?

Thanks for the help

Re: Dispute Paid Collection

Call up the collection company and ask for a PFD (Paid For Delete). Most collection companies if not all, will agree to that. I think it updates within 30 days but ask when it should be off your credit reports. If it's not off by that date then call back to follow up. You could try to file a dispute to get it removed otherwise if the collection company doesn't agree, however that's not guaranteed so good luck!
