Disputing Medical Collection

Can anyone tell me what form I need to send to a CA to dipute a bill?  I've heard of DV letters but what specifically should I send for a medical bill?  Thanks.

Sly,

The account is not reporting on my credit bureau but they are threatening to send it to an attorney.  What can I send them to dispute it and get full validation?  Thanks.

Are you with the 30 day timeframe???....send the Full Media Validation Letter...if you know it's yours...PAY THEM....so they don't report to the CRAs...AT ALL...

Re: Disputing Medical Collection

Sly,

I have no idea.  They said the medical bill was from 09/06.  I haven't heard anything about this bill before they called.  They haven't sent me anything.  I don't know what it is and they said that insurance didn't take care of any of it.  Two questions...What do I send them to validate the bill.  Also, if it is my bill, how do I get insurance to take care of their part?

Re: Disputing Medical Collection

Fisrt, you need to find out if you actually had insurance at the time...and find out what timeframe you insurance has for filing claims...usually it's a year from the date of service...did the CA tell you where it came from...the OC...contact the OC...find out if they have any bill for you...but you need to find out your insurance claim filing deadline...if your within the timeframe...give the OC your account info..and they should do the claim for you...my wife just did that...but her insuarnce timeframe was 1 year...and she did it within like 2 weeks of the year timeframe...so she was LUCKY!!!...

Re: Disputing Medical Collection

Sly,

I know I had insurance.  I'm 30 now and have insurance my entire life.  If I worked at a job without insurance my mom would have destroyed me.  But it isn't fair for them to sit on something for 2 years, let it roll past the time to file a claim and then come at me for the money.  Is there any other recourse if it is outside the time to file?

Re: Disputing Medical Collection

I'm guessing...you would have to pay if it was out of the timeframe...just contact the billing department of your insurance to be sure...I don't understand this either...SORRY!!!
