Divorced and removing "authorized user"?

My ex and I are recently divorced and I have quite a few bad accounts on my report that are under his name but have me listed as an Authorized User. Can I get them removed? If so, how?

Thanks!

Re: Divorced and removing "authorized user"?

You need to be removed as AU first.

You then would dispute with the CRA as "no longer an AU, please remove".

You could try disputing first as "not liable for account, just an AU, please remove".

Re: Divorced and removing "authorized user"?

So as long as I can ask my ex to call them and remove me as an authorized user then I can dispute them and they'll be removed like they never even existed?

What if the accounts are closed, can he still remove me as an authorized user - not sure what to do on the closed accounts...

Thanks!

Re: Divorced and removing "authorized user"?

He should be able to remove you as AU.

You may be able to do it.
