My wife's collection has a dofd of March 27th 2012. It reaches past Sol this month. We're going to try pfd to bring up her score before a mortgage app this summer. To stay out of Sol before I contact the ca, does Sol go by month or exact date? As in don't contact them until after the 27th or I'm already past Sol because it's the same month.
You need to verify that DoFD and be sure about it. Personally I would give it a few months post SOL just to be sure but that is me. Your state will set the rules as to whether its the month or day of.
If you are relying upon the DOFD that is reported to a CRA as evidence of the date of first delinquency, FCRA 623(a)(5) specifically defines DOFD as only the month and year. The CRA similarly only records DOFD by mo/yr.
Thus, I would wait until the next month.
