EQ and TU lied??!!

About a month ago, I disputed a paid (showing UNpaid) tax lien on my and DH's CRs. I was TOLD to dispute as "paid, agreed to delete" by the comptroller rep who took my payment. Easy, right?

I even got a response back from EQ AND TU stating that the tax lien would be deleted. Great! That was near the middle of last month and I have been waiting breathlessly to see that d*mn tradeline deleted.

Today, I took a little trip to SW (had an alert waiting for me from EQ) and apparently, EQ decided to reneg on the deal and merely show it as "Released." According to TC, TU is doing the same. Smiley Sad

I still have copies of the investigation report, stating that the tax lien would be DELETED. Is there ANY point in discussing this with EQ and TU?? Is their own investigation results useful as "proof?" Can I make them honor their results??

Any advice and opinions more than welcomed!!! TIA!!

EDITED: Made a mistake and pointed a finger at EX -- they have, in fact, removed it! Yay!! TU and EQ, who both said it would be deleted, are being butt-boogers!! Smiley Mad

Re: EQ and TU lied??!!

Suggest giving them a few more days...

They may have to change statuses from unpaid -> released -> deleted...

Don't know, but some software won't allow changes from certains states to others.

OTOH, you could call the CRA and point out the letters they sent saying it would be deleted. Perhaps they deleted and OC didn't update the 'tapes'? Which caused it to be re-reported?

Re: EQ and TU lied??!!

I've never seen a delay between the time the CRA finished the investigation and the deletion taking place. However, I've not dealt with PR, except for my friends and they just updated those, which is what the investigation results said they'd do.

I'd send a letter CMRRR to each CRA, with a copy of the investigation results and highlight the area where it said it would be deleted and the date on the letters. Explain that the item remains and has not been deleted as stated.

You are updating your reports, right? Some do not realize that reports are not self-updating.
