LVNV keeps dissapearing!?

I've had this collection agency on my credit reports for over 4 years now. I have done nothing of the sort to DV or dispute with them.

Last week, it disappeared from EQ, now it's gone from EX.

Going at this rate, I'm assuming it will drop off my TU as well.

Does anyone know why this might be happening?

I know I should be happy, but it kind of worries me.

Did they possibly sell to another CA? Are they about to sue and they are just getting rid of all evidence of their shoddy reporting practices?

Is LVNV dropping off of anyone else's reports recently?

Thanks.

Re: LVNV keeps dissapearing!?

From your post, I am going to assume it is unpaid.

It could be that they sold or sent back to OC, and removed as they should.

Is it past CRTP? What is DOFD?

Once a debt has been purchased, they can send back to original creditor?

You are correct, it is unpaid.

LVNV purchased this debt from an old store card I had a while back ago. I apologize, I should have made that clear in my original post.

I highly doubt they removed it because "they should". LVNV is notorious for mis-reporting and using malicious collection practices. This account was reporting as a FACTORING COMPANY ACCOUNT which is illegal because it's not a factoring account. They are a bottom feeder CA and they are known for never giving up.

Don't know the dates, because they keep re-aging that account. Another illegal tactic they use to keep the darn thing on my credit reports.

Re: LVNV keeps dissapearing!?

I don't think they can send back to the OC after purchasing. However, if they are just assigned the account they can.

My spouse and I both had LVNV on our reports and got them off easy, guess we were two of the lucky ones.

Do you know what DOFD actually is?

Date of First Delinquency. Honestly, I can't tell, because they don't report any lates. All the boxes for the past months are blank.

Could you tell me how you and your wife were able to get LVNV off your reports?

You can PM me if you aren't allowed to say on the forums.

Thank you.

Sent them a DV. They were removed from CR. About 2 months later, got a "attempt" to validate. Have never heard anything more from them.
