Easiest Secured CC to get?

I didn't know if I should post this in the Credit Card section or here, but I thought since it's about rebuilding I'd post here...

What is the easiest secured card to get from one of the major banks? I tried Bank of America but got denied : (

Anyone else? I heard something about a secured Matrix card, but I got a shady feeling from them....

Re: Easiest Secured CC to get?

Stay away, far away, from Matrix.

Try Capital One.  Their secured card, in my opinion, is one of the best.

I used to post my scores here. However, I'm prone to motion sickness and the ups and downs were nauseating.

I knew Matrix sounded fishy!!

I'd love to have Cap 1... but are they hard to get since I was denied for BOA?

Re: Easiest Secured CC to get?

I'm 99% sure I would be denied with BoA, but I was approved for Cap 1.

BOA and Citi secured cards are on the tougher side to get approved for. Capital One is going to be on the easier side. When I started rebuilding a couple of years ago, I went with Cap One and Orchard. But I believe Orchard is now Cap One if im not mistaken. Try Cap One.

Re: Easiest Secured CC to get?

State Department FCU - easy to open a savings account online. Then call the loan department to apply for a secured Visa. They will hold the funds in your savings account as security. It's a great card - no AF, 6.99%, rewards, and no credit check if you apply by phone. If you apply for the card online, it's a hard pull. $250 minimum. Reports to all 3 CRAs as a secured card. They were on my CR before I received my card. And it does not graduate.

Otherwise, Capital One would be good. Smiley Happy

Starting Scores: (4/16/12 lender pull) TU 596 | EX 550 | EQ 576
Current Score (9/3/15): Wally TU 639 | Amex EX 628 | DCU EQ 639
Goals: Homeowner as of 9/27/2013. Last app 8/1/15. TU-5; EX-16; EQ-13. Aiming for ZERO inqs.

Re: Easiest Secured CC to get?

sounds good but what happens when you open the account, apply for the card and get denied? I was denied for a secured Capital One Smiley Sad Probably no use in trying that one for me. ****oh, just saw the part where you apply by phone no credit check. hmmm I will look into this!
