Re: Enhanced Recovery & Collection Question

Anything that is within statuatory limits can always be re-reported. If you made a deal for PFD or they are granting a GW request the odds are pretty low they will show up again just be sure to keep all your paperwork till time to report expires.

Re: Enhanced Recovery & Collection Question

@gdale6

Thank you for the response!

None were PFD, but two of the 4 were paid a week or two before I disputed them.

It's nice seeing one clean record and guess I will just have to keep my fingers crossed for the best!

Re: Enhanced Recovery & Collection Question

Deletions based on a finding in a dispute are never absolute.

The goal under the FCRA is to obtain correction or verification, and not prevent the reporting or resinsertion of information that is shown or verified to be accurate.

Deletions via a dispute are based on a lack of corrrection or verification of accuracy of the disputed information.

The furnisher can always submit the lack of verification or of corrrection at any later date, and have the information reinserted based on its verification or correction.

In a nutshell, the resertion provision requries that a request for reinsertion must be accompanied by a Certification of Accuracy of the information.

See FCRA 611(a)(5)(B) for details of the reinsertion provisions after deletion based on a dispute.

Re: Enhanced Recovery & Collection Question

Thank you, @RobertEG

It's still all too confusing to me.

Going to do my best and just watch my reports and if something comes back to EX I will go the GW route.

Same goes for TU and EQ once I see what happens with those.

Re: Enhanced Recovery & Collection Question

Well, EQ finally send the results of my disputes to me today.

Got 1/4 deleted.

2 are medical and under $100 and both are from the same place so I will trying to contact OC and see if they will do a PFD and go from there.

The final one was a $61 bill through ERC.

I got an unpaid $907 collection from ERC removed (I got charged $907 for disconnecting 2 ATT cell phones where I got no service early. Sorry, ATT. Absurd!).

The $61 ERC collection was paid about 2 months ago.

So it looks like I have no other action and am punished for 4 more years for doing the right thing and paying a debt I actually owed.

I'm assuming I have no other options getting this removed?

Re: Enhanced Recovery & Collection Question

For unpaid medical debt that is reporting on your CR:

1. Call the OC and see if you qualify for Charity Care
2. If not then ask that they recall the collection in exchange for full payment
3. Send the reporting CA a PFD offer
4. Google the HIPAA Process and contact its creator for help

Re: Enhanced Recovery & Collection Question

@gdale6

Thank you for that info!

Is there anything else I can do to see if I can get that paid collection deleted?

Re: Enhanced Recovery & Collection Question

Start a GW campaign asking for removal of the account

Re: Enhanced Recovery & Collection Question

Thank you, @rmduhon

So I just write them a letter explaining my situation and ask them to remove it since I paid it?

Re: Enhanced Recovery & Collection Question

Basically. It might take several tries though. Search the forums for the Saturation Technique for ideas.
