Ex GF added me on to her cards?

So I just woke up because experian noticed me of new accounts! Ummm they're my old GF's accounts and they're all 60 days past due!!! I'm guessing she added me on my name and D.O.B / Address? She doesn't have my social but I'm already disputing these aren't my accounts and I didn't authorize her to make me a AU... My score sadly went from 644 to 581...

wow, AU seems to easy to hurt others credit. Even temporary, it can spook your lenders.  hope it works out fast.

They should probably change the way AU is added.  Although you are not responsible for the debt, it directly affects your credit, and should require authorization.

I agree, it's unfortunate for many people that get there credit dinged temporarily. I'm hoping disputing them will be easy. Rebuilding is going exceptionally good and this will set me back what took months to obtain.. Started rebuilding with a 380 score.

Thats just dirty wow! they should make it harder for sure,  This would have to be illegal if she did it without your permission.

Re: Ex GF added me on to her cards?

This has happened to me. I wasn't added as an AU but my wife's bad debts were added to my report, I don't know why. I know it wasn't because she did anything. I disputed it, and it was removed in a few days

If you live in a community property state this will sometimes happen as the creditors would consider you responsible for the debt even if is not your account.

Re: Ex GF added me on to her cards?

That is unauthorized use of your identity.

I would contact the creditor, advise them of the facts, and request immediate removal of the unauthorized reporting to your credit file.

If they decline, file a police report and send to them to demand all their business records pertaining to the authorization (see FCRA 609(e)), and send to the CRA to force the block of the AU accounts from your credit report under FCRA 605B.

The creditor has no horse in the AU race, and should delete without need to pursue identity theft, but you can create disclosure requirments and a lot of hassle for them if they refuse........

Re: Ex GF added me on to her cards?

We parted ways over a year ago and no bills were in each other's names and we lived separately and was never an AU on any of her accounts.. So I don't think the creditor. I already filed disputes with all 3 major CU and listed it under (not my account) and left a note to please delete it's not mine. I'll wait the dispute process out and let everyone know the outcome!

Sounds like someone's being spiteful for their life going the slow toilet spin downward.
