So I have a charge-off from Capital One that hits the 7 year mark in September. I've already had it excluded from my report with TU. When I tried with EX the same day they told me to call back on June 1 and they could EE it then. I called them back a few weeks later about another account, which they removed, and again asked about this charge off acount and I was told to call back on May 1 and have it removed.
I called them yesterday to go through the EE process and the woman I spoke with told me this account isn't eligible for an EE. She said only certain account types are eligible and she doesn't know why I was told it could be removed via EE. She said it has to stay on until September. She also said she filed a complaint on my behalf because I was told incorrect information.
Is this just some random weird inf or are charge-offs truly not eliible for EE wth EX? I know they do EEs and they haven't put up much (if any) of a fight previously. Should I just call back and try for a new rep? Should I wait til June since that's what I assume the EE date to actually be?
With EE its hit and miss not all will do it or try to help. I would call back again in June and once a month till they do it or it is auto excluded. Typically with EX its only 1-3 months on advance, TU is more lienient.
I had a charge off EE with EX earlier this week so they definately will EE them.
How is Equifax on EE? Are they strict on it? And how easy is TU on it? How early do they remove?
Success! I called EX yesterday to request the EE again (3rd time this week) On the first try I got a rep who basically said no problem and deleted it immediately. Now basically to wait until 7/1 for this one to fall off of EQ. Hoping to see a score bump. Getting this paid charge-off removed from TU a few months ago netted me a 23 point increase. It would be nice to get a large bump to EX as well. Slowly but surely I'm getting there.
Does anyone one have the direct phone number to the Experian Dispute department?
My 3-month EE date is tomorrow (July 1st) for my last two baddies and I called 45 minutes ago (23 minute hold time) this number 877-870-5640 and the most annoying voiced woman (think redneck + dolphin talking) and I told her I needed to talk to a supervisor and the #$%# didn't connect me she just sent me to a voicemail. That was 30 minutes well spent. UGH!
I call bs, call them back until you get someone to do it, I had much success with all 3 lately and ex seems to be the easiest.
Actually, I got an EE on a baddie 6 months early with Equifax in 2016. But that's like winning the lottery. They are and far away the hardest to get an EE and the norm is only one month before the DOFD date. Unlike Experian which is 90 days and Transunion 6 months before DOFD like clockwork with EE.
