I have had the most trouble with how EX reports for drop off dates. I still have to call EQ.
I called because I couldn't find the drop off dates for my OC accounts that are falling off soon.
I have a Cap1 that is now owned by Midland. Midland shows a drop off date of 8/15 which makes sense looking at the date of my last payment to the OC. Cap1 for this account is scheduled for 12/15. Cap1 has already been EE from TU because they had it scheduled to come off 10/15.
Second Cap1 owned by Midland set for drop off 11/15 with Cap1 OC drop off of 2/16. TU shows 12/15 for the OC.
It seems like these would be the same between the OC and the CA? I'm not complaining really. If I was going to choose one to fall off first it would certainly be the monthly updating CA. I don't want to rock the boat too much and have Midland be re-scheduled to the OC date. Has anyone ever seen this before?
I also have an old CO from Compass that was scheduled for 6/15 from TU and has already been removed from an EE letter. EX shows a date of 12/15. I have read here that it is common to be a month different, but this one is 6 months different.
Anyone have any idea on this? Or seen this before?

The OC & CA have to operate from the DoFD that is set by the OC, there is no slack in this, if someone has the wrong DoFD reported to the CRA then it is challengable if you have the proof of what it actually is. I see posts that say well they drop off within a few months of each other nothing wrong with that but I disagree, the law its the law.
The confusion that I am having, is that the Collections is set to come off months before the OC. I don't know what the official DofFD actually would be anymore. It's been way too long. The issue I don't want, is for the collection to re-set to the OCs actual doffd?
Your Equifax report should show the actual reported DoFD rather than an estimated fall off date... Thats the date I would use. It should show on the last report you pulled from annualcreditreport.com.
Thanks for that. It sure does have all of them on the EQ report. I just had a chance to get mine this past Friday. Thanks again
It appears that the fall off dates for TU are just more friendly to me than the actual DoFD would say.
What are the derogs that were reported by the OC?
They are all COs.
Cap One 2/09 and 11/08
Midland is associated with the 11/08 date
Compass 12/08
TransUnion dropped Compass 2/15 for an 8/15 drop EE
Cap One 11/08 was listed as 10/15 on TU and EE
Cap One 2/09 is listed to drop 11/15 on TU and calling to request an EE this month
Experian shows that Cap One for 11/08 is dropping 11/15 and 2/09 dropping 2/16
However their respective CA are being removed on 8/15 and 11/15
Compass shows a drop of 12/15 for Experian
The debt collector is required to follow the process set forth in FCRA 623(a)(5) in obtaining and reporting the DOFD.
If the OC has reported a charge-off, they were required to have reported the DOFD to the CRA within 90 days after reporting of their charge-off.
Under section 623(a)(5), if the OC has reported the DOFD, then that is their acceptable statement of the DOFD, and the debt collector is then not required to contact the OC to obtain the DOFD. The debt collector must report that same date.
Thus, the exclusion of both the charge-off and the collection will have the same maximum date of no later than 7 years plus 160 days from the reported DOFD.
However, the CRAs can choose to exclude earlier, so expected/estimated/actual exclusion dates can differ between the CO and the collection and/or between different CRAs. However, the max statutory exclusion date is the same, single date-certain.
