Ok so I had a chargoff with First Premier and I paid the account in full so should my credit report under status say "pays as agreed" or "paid in full" and then in the comment section below say it was a chargoff? Instead mine says under staus "payment/after chargoff/collection. Like this the fico is thinking the account is still delinquent. In the fico section it says if you paid the creditor in full the status type should say "paid in full" if you no longer owe them money.
any suggestions??
Also, you think they will open the account back up to me since its paid off. I don't want the premier card but it beats it being derogotory.
It will never be pays as agreed because it was CO'd. Payment after charge off is the appropriate status.
Current would still be payment after charge off. Paid.
Did the balance update to 0?
It will also always be an adverse account.
From what I hear they don't delete either. How long before it stops hurting my score so much and lenders look at it less?
A charge off is a major derogatory and will hurt for nearly 7 years. Their impact will slightly fade with time.
Last time I had a lender look at a CO it was over 5 years old and they didn't care much.
Any debt looks better paid. This account is factoring into your utilization as well. Once it is paid it no longer will.
I have a bad debt with them that I paid. They declined to give me another one. I didn't break my heart due to the annual fees but I thought I'd try anyway. YMMV.
