Having cleaned up my reports over the past couple of years, I've been able to get some of my goal prime cards with decent limits and I'm extremely grateful to this forum for helping guide me through this rebuild.

Unfortunately, one stubborn collection remains with Fair Collections and Outsourcing. The account is ~3.5 yrs old and I paid the account in full last year and they stopped updating the account after closing it with the remarks "paid in full". I send them a GW letter and email once a month asking them to remove the account from my credit reports, yet it remains as damaging as ever. They simply respond that the account is being reported accurately.

I'm looking to rent a new place soon with my SO who has excellent credit. I think my scores are high enough to qualify and my rental history from the last 3 years are stellar, but I'm worried that this paid collection on my reports might limit my rental search.

If anyone has any advice or has had any success with this collection agency, I would really appreciate some assisstance/advice in getting this removed from my reports.

I was also dealing with this collection company not too long ago, they very stubborn to deal with. They located in Maryland, if I'm not mistaken. I dispute the debt with them 2 time, they didn't budge, they come with the same generic answer "the account is being reported accurately." I sent them a 3rd dispute letter, I also send a letter to each of the credit bureaus, then I summited a complaint with CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) Fair Collections and Outsourcing removed the collection a heart beat.

I've been struggling with this company as well and have not paid because I was sent to collections unjustly. They can not confirm any details on why I'm being charged. What did your complaint to CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) include?

This is what I write to the CFPB about my complaint, these all the option I chose.

"I have written this collection company three time about the debt they claim I owe them. I asked them to send me proof of validation that shows that the debt is mine. Instead, they send me paper statements with someone else name on it as proof that the debt belong to me. their company name wasn't even on none of the statement they sent. I have reached out to them three time already to resolve this problem, they have refused to comply to the FCRA rules. before I take this case any further, I decide to summit a complaint first before I contact them for a fourth time. if they still refused to delete this account from my report that leave me no choice but to press charge against their company for the damage they have cause to my credit report."

PRODUCT OR SERVICE: Debt collection

 TYPE: Other debt

ISSUE: Attempts to collect debt not owed

HAVE YOU ALREADY TRIED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WITH THE COMPANY? Yes

What would be a fair resolution to this issue?

"I want this collection company to delete this account from all three of my credit report as soon as possible. since the debt does not belong to me, plus they have failed to show any valid paper work that shows that the debt is indeed mine, they need to remove the account from my report."
