Fall Off Date Question

Have any of you had your tradelines deleted by the fall off date indicated on your reports? The last of what I could not get removed through elbow grease and a wish is set to fall off from 2012 - 2014.

Just curious if it is self monitored or when the dates start to roll in if I should log on and dispute them due to age as listed by the reports.

Throwing a party in 2014 when Midland and Portfolio officially fall off.

Re: Fall Off Date Question

Its something that is suppose to be done automatically with the CRAs. But of course, it may not always happen right at the 7 year mark. I believe EX is known to remove it at the 7.5 year mark. Edited.

Whoops, I meant to say EX is known to remove it at 7 years + 1 month mark.

You scared me there when you said 7.5.

I have an item due to fall off on Dec 2012 as specified on my EX report. I can wait if it's one month but 6 months would stink Smiley Happy

Re: Fall Off Date Question

Removal of negative items from your CR after expiration of the "fall-off" date for that item is the sole responsibility of the CRA, not the party who reported the derogatory item.  In fact, the party who reported it can continue to report it forever, if they are so inclined. It is not their reporting that is restricted, it is the ability of the CRA to continue to include that item in any CR they issue, and thus it is their sole responsibility to monitor those dates.

If an item remains in your CR after its statutory FCRA 605(a) exclusion date, the proper recourse is to file a complaint with the CRA for their non-compliance with FCRA 605(a), and not to dispute the accuracy of the reporting of that item by the reporting party.
