Fax Pre-HIPAA

Can I fax my Pre-HIPAA letters?  I want to avoid the costs from CMRRR (7 each where I am as there is no post office close and I have to use an authorized mail facility)

I would not think that would be a good idea... You would want to make sure you have a paper trail of your HIPPA letters so if it were me, i would eat the costs and send the mail certified.

Re: Fax Pre-HIPAA

Ok, sent! :-)  Do I need to wait the full 30 days or can I send HIPPA notices to the OC as soon as I hear back from all 3 CRAs?

Wait 30+5 days = 35 (includes mailing time). Depending on the result of your dispute, if it's deleted your done, if it's not, then you write HIPPA letter #2 with the correct insert and payment (in full if unpaid). Keep in mind you cannot write letter #2 until you receive the written notice of the CRAs action or non-action. Hang tight, I now you're anxious to get this over with. GL!

Definitely anxious to get it over and done with. The hardest thing for me is having to wait for a lot of this stuff to update. I have the money to pay the debt now, seems silly to have to go through this process in order to get it removed. :-(

If you think med collections hard, try getting a lien, repo, CO or other type of collection removed.Smiley Happy Med collections, because of HIPAA and to a lesser extent the FCRA, are easier to remove. HIPAA has very sharp teeth. Other baddies are usually quite a bit harder to have deleted.
