First Delinquency Reporting Date Error

Hi All -

I have two collection agencies I have been fighting.

LVNV bought Credit One.

Original Date of First 30 day delinquency is 6/2009

LVNV reports first delinquency as 3/2010

Portfolio Recovery bought GE JC Penny

Original Date of First 30 day delinquency is 11/2010

Portfolio Recovery reports first delinquency as 9/2012

Would this warrant disputing? Would they be able to just udpate and then re-report?

Re: First Delinquency Reporting Date Error

More info is needed.

The date of first delinquency is not always the date of first delinquency under the account, it can be reset if a delinquent debt is paid back into good standing, and a new first delinquency then occurs.

It is the first delinquency in the most recent chain of account delinquency that immediately preceded a reported charge-off or collection.

What is the total payment history?

If it is inaccurate, they can update so as to overcome any inaccuracy.

It wont require deletion of the collection, but is important to get corrected, as the DOFD is the date used by the CRA to calculate the eventual credit report exclusion date of the collection.
